Milliken’s Signature Plus™ Receives Oeko-Tex Certification

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (September 5, 2007) — Milliken's Signature Plus™ table linen has attained Oeko-Tex certification. Oeko-Tex is an ecological safety certification process that ensures the safety of materials and finished products through the products' lives. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 inspects textiles that come in contact with the skin to ensure that they pose no harm to humans.

The International Oeko-Tex Association was established in 1992 and is made up of 14 research and test institutes from Europe and Japan. The certification process requires six to eight weeks and must be renewed annually. Oeko-Tex standards are determined by who will use a product and how much human contact is likely. The Confidence in Textile label placed on Oeko-Tex certified goods is recognized throughout the world and desired by consumers concerned with harmful substances that could be present in textiles.
